Andrew Waitman
Andrew Waitman is a transformative technology executive, venture capitalist, and company builder with more than 30 years of experience scaling high-growth startups into global enterprises. As a Board Member at Realize Medical, he brings deep expertise in SaaS, data, AI, and scaling technology platforms to global markets.
Andrew is the Founder of ContxtMatters, an AI-native advisory platform supporting founders and CEOs through early-stage growth. He is also Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Assent, a leading supply chain sustainability platform he previously led as CEO for over a decade — growing the company from under $1M in annual recurring revenue to more than $125M, with over 1,000 employees across four continents. In 2025, Assent achieved a $1.3B valuation following a majority investment by Vista Equity Partners and Blackstone.
Earlier in his career, Andrew served as CEO of Pythian, scaling the business from $5M to over $50M in revenue and establishing it as one of Canada’s leading global data analytics firms. He also co-founded Celtic House Venture Partners, where he led top-performing funds and backed multiple successful exits, including acquisitions by Cisco and PMC-Sierra. Across his leadership roles, he delivered 64 consecutive quarters of revenue growth.
Today, Andrew is an active investor and advisor across sectors including medtech, AI, fintech, and aggrotech, and serves on multiple boards including Invest Ottawa. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from Ivey Business School, and is a CFA charter holder. In 2024, he was named CEO of the Year by the Ottawa Business Journal and Ottawa Board of Trade and was inducted into the Order of Ottawa.
