Dan La Russa

Dan La Russa is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Realize Medical, where he oversees operational strategy and the continued evolution of the company’s immersive medical visualization platform. He holds a PhD in Physics and is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine, reflecting his longstanding contributions to the field. 

Prior to co-founding Realize Medical, Dan spent 17 years as a medical physicist at an academic radiation oncology centre, where he developed extensive expertise in clinical imaging, treatment planning, and applied physics in healthcare. His work has been recognized with the Farrington Daniels Award, and he is a co-author of the 2019 Journal of Digital Imaging Best Paper alongside Justin Sutherland — a publication that has been widely cited for its impact on medical imaging innovation. 

Dan plays a critical role in translating complex scientific concepts into scalable, clinically relevant solutions. As a member of the Board of Directors at Realize Medical, he continues to help shape the company’s strategic direction while advancing the global adoption of Elucis as a leading solution in 3D VR procedural planning.
